Places of no specific interest

In this body of works I treat the a photograph as a bit of data. Rather than an information packed entity, it becomes a by-product of process that strives for total documentation.

I feel no need to select the subject specifically. The real value is in the action of capturing data, any data, storing it and displaying it for others to access. Almost like raw data, the images on their own signify nothing of specific interest; but offer interpretation to become information. Data before it becomes information. I like to imagine the images as short statements or bits of data, i.e. place, place, place. It becomes interpreted data or information when I say, I’ve been places.

I’ve been playing GTA quit a lot recently, a third-person action game. I started to do screenshots and recreate them(to some degree) with me in the frame. I noticed they gained something if I edited my self into them, rather than being in them, as they explore the disconnection between reality and gameplay differently that way.

Me in the photos brings into light the being of the user. It is important to me that the user is part of physical work as it addresses engagement in the virtual exploration of the world through popular media such as google maps.
